Sleigh Bells Poster

Awesome band: (http://www.myspace.com/sleighbellsmusic) Here is a poster I drew for their Liverpool show on November 12. I broke my Faber-Castell 0.18 half way through. Arr gutted!

These eyes, tho' clear To outward view of blemish or of spot, Bereft of light, their seeing have forgot, Nor to their idle orbs doth sight appear Of sun, or moon, or star, throughout the year, Or man, or woman. Yet I argue not Against Heaven's hand or will, not bate a jot Of heart or hope; but still bear up and steer Right onward.

And The Company Linguistics

Tyrannosaurus (pronounced /tɨˌrænɵˈsɔrəs/ or /taɪˌrænɵˈsɔrəs/, meaning 'tyrant lizard') from the Greek words τυράννος (tyrannos, meaning "tyrant") and σαύρος' (sauros, meaning "lizard"), is a genus of theropod dinosaur. The species Tyrannosaurus rex ('rex' meaning 'king' in Latin), commonly abbreviated to T. rex, is a fixture in popular culture. It lived throughout what is now western North America, with a much wider range than other tyrannosaurids. Fossils are found in a variety of rock formations dating to the last two million years of the Cretaceous Period, 67 to 65.5 million years ago.[1] It was among the last non-avian dinosaurs to exist prior to theCretaceous–Tertiary extinction event.

(This'll be a gig poster later today)

Liars Poster

A work-in-progress poster design for a LIARS liverpool show in Static Gallery next month as part of Liverpool Music Week 2010. It's entirely painted in ink, the original is sitting on my desk now and looks really nice though I'm debating with myself whether to draw more animals in all the white space. *Subject to change...*

Post script...

This is done!

Perhaps it was a Ghost

"Perhaps it was a ghost," Jim said. "
Perhaps it was trolls," Dan said, who was always reading.
"Let's go in and see if there's any jelly left," Jack said. And we did that.

The Two-Tongued Sea

All the Christmases roll down toward the two-tongued sea, like a cold and headlong moon bundling down the sky that was our street; and they stop at the rim of the ice-edged fish-freezing waves, and I plunge my hands in the snow and bring out whatever I can find.

The Neighbour's Polar Cat

"We were so still, Eskimo-footed arctic marksmen in the muffling silence of the eternal snows - eternal, ever since Wednesday - that we never heard Mrs. Prothero's first cry from her igloo at the bottom of the garden. Or, if we heard it at all, it was, to us, like the far-off challenge of our enemy and prey, the neighbor's polar cat. But soon the voice grew louder.
"Fire!" cried Mrs. Prothero, and she beat the dinner-gong."

The Wise Cats Who Never Appeared

Sleek and long as jaguars and horrible-whiskered, spitting and snarling, they would slink and sidle over the white back-garden walls, and the lynx-eyed hunters, Jim and I, fur-capped and moccasined trappers from Hudson Bay, off Mumbles Road, would hurl our deadly snowballs at the green of their eyes. The wise cats never appeared.

Cervantes mail art

Here are a few shots I have taken of a parcel I designed to be sent to Miguel De Cervantes (deceased). (He is known to be buried near to the address on the label). The parcel is wrapped in my drawing of Toledo and the other art are drawings of mine inspired by parts of his great novel. I am still working on the contents...

Just sent this off to the printers. £10 for 250. Seems like a bargain so I assume there'll be a catch somewhere...

Don Qui

I have recently been looking at my old favourite book 'Don Quixote' and was inspired to draw this image I've called 'Don Qui'. I have been trying to add some fluidity to my work hence the rough lines and thick application of ink. I have always loved triangles and they are here in abundance

My Albino Ladybird

I found this on my kitchen wall this morning and quickly took a photo before it flew away. I think it might be an Albino Ladybird.

Albert dock

I had hoped to make it over to Formby Beach today to take a few shots in the sun but unfortunately spent rather longer than expected (Spring) cleaning my house. Tomorrow morning I will be heading off to Manchester for a costume fitting (I signed up to act in a Richard E Grant war film which, as luck would have it, is being filmed at the end of my road) but anyway, I hope to finally have some free time to get back on with my drawing tomorrow night.

Oh and by the way, the shot above I took last night behind Liverpool Albert Dock. Still loving my camera at the moment...(if you click on the photo it'll take you to my Flickr set with about 5 more shots)

I've been spending a lot of time with my camera over the last couple of days. The link below goes to some shots I took in St Jame's Garden's in Liverpool (Which is pretty much over the road from my house). Most are shot on my Canon Digital Rebel XT with my Canon 100mm Macro 2.8 USL Lens...

Drive Thru

I drew this picture I've entitled 'Drive Thru' last week for a Zine from Leeds for my good friend Jon Owen.

I have also bought a nice photo scanner this week so fingers crossed I'll be freed up a little to add a few more coloured elements to my pictures. Watch this space etc etc...
